LYRICAL. From the lilting sounds of Irish reels and jigs to the slow airs of sean-nós style ballads, Les's style evokes the essential emotions of the music of Ireland and the rest of the Celtic lands. For the past decade, Les has performed at festivals, events, and pubs throughout the greater metro area of Denver, Colorado and beyond — both as a solo artist and as a member of the band Boys Of The Town. When he isn't at his day job or at gigs, he can often be found at any one of Denver's many Irish sessions.

New Album Release: "Echoes of Other Lands"
The most memorable tales stay with us long after the telling is complete. Echoes of Other Lands is an ethereal recording of such haunting ghost stories, tales of the Fair Folk, and songs of sad death and parting taken largely from the Irish tradition. Les Barstow sings and plays the keyless flute inside the unique swirling resonance of The TANK in Rangely, Colorado — creating a meditative sound where music interacts with itself, generating harmonies from ancient melodies.
